Howard A. “Buddy” Thompson of Frostproof passed away Sunday, December 28, 2008 at the Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center in Sebring.
He was born November 18, 1926 in Miami to the late Howard Alden and Mary K (Williams) Thompson Sr.; he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a retired self-employed building contractor, of the Baptist faith, and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp. where he flew a B-29. He was a Mason for 40 years in Frostproof. He was a Jack of all trades and could do anything, his friends say he was the smartest man they new.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Madeline Thompson; son, Howard Bruce Thompson (wife-Peggy) of Frostproof; one granddaughter, Amy Holt of Hollywood; and numerous step-children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 3, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
