Howard C. “Steve” Stevens, 88, of Davenport passed away Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

Born October 6, 1919 in Altoona, PA; he came to this area from Ocean Pines, MD 10 years ago. He was a retired aviation mechanic for Westinghouse Corp. and during his retirement years, he was a greeter at the Boardwalk Hotel in Disney World. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in New Port, DE. He was a Shriner and a Scottish Rite and a member of the American Legion in Kissimmee.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine C. “Kay” Stevens of Davenport; daughters, Wendy, and husband Robert, Toffry of Davenport; Debra Stevens of Glenburnie, MD; Kathy, and husband Alan, Hoffman of Ocean Pines, MD; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until the Masonic service time at 4:00 PM, Saturday, December 29, 2007 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales.
