Howard J. Douglas

Howard J. Douglas of Auburndale passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at his residence.

He was born May 11, 1948 in Bell, FL to Norman & Jewell Douglas; he came to Polk County 25 years ago from Bell. He was the owner/operator of Douglas Home Repair and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Howard was preceded in death by his mother, Jewell Douglas and sister, Janice Douglas. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Younger Douglas; son, Steven Douglas of High Springs; step-son, Lloyd Younger of Waynesville, GA; step-daughter, Terry Younger of Lake Wales; father, Norman Douglas of High Springs; sister, Linda Smith of High Springs; brothers, Roy Gene Douglas of Lakeland, Norman Douglas Jr. of High Springs and Dale Douglas of High Springs; 7 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Memorial service will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, June 29, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice or any wildlife conservation group.
