WINTER HAVEN--Homer D. Lake, 86, of Winter Haven died Monday, July 16, 2007 at Winter Haven Hospital.

Born April 28, 1921 in Wheeling, WV; he came here from West Virginia in 1956. He was a retired security guard. He was of the Protestant faith and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Lake was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Inez Lake in 1996, and his daughter, Frances Crews. Survivors include his daughters, Martha Angold of Lake Wales; Effie Craddick of Lakeland; Cathy Collins of Avon Park; sons, Robert Lake of Babson Park; Henry Lake of Lake Wales; Franklin Lake of Lakeland; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
