Hollis E. Casey, 73, of Frostproof passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 at his home with his family.
Hollis was born September 24, 1943 in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Jesse and Gaynell Casey. He served his country in the U.S. Army and worked as a mechanic for the Coca Cola Food Company and for Griffin Ford. He formed and was a member of the Back Street Boys Bar-B-Que Club with his son, Ben Casey, and friends Rickey White, Hard Rock Taylor, Howard Lee and Bobby Fowler. They treated Frostproof folks to their Bar-b-que and entered local competitions.
He was preceded in death by his son, Benjamin Casey and a brother, Patrick Casey. Survivors include his wife, Linda Casey; daughter, Kara Casey of Frostproof; and granddaughter, Makayla Casey.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday July 25, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Frostproof with Rev. Darrol Hood and Rev. James B Wood officiating. Interment will follow at Silver Hill Cemetery with an honor guard presentation.
