Hilda Tomko, 86, of Indian Lake Estates passed away Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

Born December 2, 1921 in McKeesport, PA; she came here in 1962 following her husband’s military career. She was a secretary/bookkeeper, working for Mountain Lake Corp., Highland Park Corp., Indian Lake Corp., and the U.S. Government. She was an active member of the Indian Lake Golf Association and the Red Hat Ladies, and loved playing bridge and taking trips to Las Vegas.

Hilda was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Andrew Daniel Tomko in 1991, and her parents, Jacob & Laura Franks. Survivors include her daughters, Andrea Tomko Almand, and husband Charles Daniels, of Columbia, MD; Timara Bobo, and husband Russell, of Palm Beach Gardens; sister, Helen Parkinson of Venice, FL; and dear friend, Laverne Carey of Indian Lake Estates; 3 grandchildren, Kristin, Kelly, and Bryan; and great-grandchildren, Hailey and a new child due in July.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, January 4, 2008 at the Indian Lake Estates United Methodist Church with Rev. Wallace Tervin officiating. Interment will follow at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Indian Lake Estates United Methodist Church, P.O.
