Herman K. Davis

Herman K. Davis of Lake Wales passed away Friday, November 18, 2011, at his home in Winterville, N.C.

He was born August 26, 1926 in Waverly, Fla. to the late John Arthur and Alice Pumphrey Davis. He was a retired U.S. Postal Service rural route carrier and entrepreneur. Herman was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a 60 year member of the Lake Wales Lodge #242, F&AM. He was also a member of First Baptist Church, Lake Wales.

Herman was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Vinnie C. Davis and two sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include his daughter Sandra D. and James K. Carter of Newport News, Va.; sons, Terry and Sheila Davis of Winterville, N.C., and Gregory K. and Joyce Davis of Oak Ridge, Tn.; seven grandchildren, Andrea, Kenneth, Carter, Josh, Luke, Matthew and Phillip; and ten great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
