Helen Ann Swoboday, 88, of Lake Wales passed away Monday, April 14, 2008 at her residence of heart failure.

Born April 27, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York; she came to Lake Wales in 1980 from Castleberry, Florida. She was a faithful parishioner of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She was a member of the Lake Wales AARP, was active in the Lake Wales Senior Center and served as President for it’s Blind Support Group for 9 years. She was also active with the Keenagers and served as an officer in the American Business Woman’s Association.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Everett J. Swoboday; a son, Eric Thomas Swoboday; and her companion, Robert Curtis. She was a devoted grandmother to her 3 grandchildren; Lynne Adams of Satellite Beach, FL; Melissa Martinelli of Boulder City, NV; E. Cameron Swoboday of Orlando, FL; and her 3 great-grandchildren, Michael, Sarah and Faith. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Patricia Swoboday of Indian Harbor Beach, FL.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Thursday, April 24, 2008 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lake Wales. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Florida.
