Helen C Medlock

Helen C. Medlock, 88, of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at her residence. She was born on September 6, 1927 in Malvern, Alabama to the late Christopher and Myrle (Metcalf) Messer and she has been a resident of this area since 1942 moving here from Georgia. She was a retired registered nurse for the Lake Wales Medical Center most of her career. Helen was a longtime V.O.I.C.E. volunteer, following here retirement she was a home healthcare nurse and she was honored as elderly citizen of the year in 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ezell Medlock, brothers, Robert and Joe Messer. Survivors include her daughters, Clare Messer of Lake Wales, Beth Bellamy and her husband J.L. of Gadsen, Alabama; son, Charles Medlock and his wife Vickie of Lake Wales; brothers, Jerry Messer and Chris Messer both of Lake Wales, Mark Messer of Lovelady, Texas; sisters, Ann Singleton and Phyllis Batson both of Lake Wales; 5 grandchildren, Shannon Burger husband Bryan, Jennifer Edge husband Greg, Jeffrey Bellamy wife Dana, Dylan Medlock, Tasha Medlock fiancé Nathan Rodden; 7 great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Dr. Scott Markley officiating. Private interment will be held at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
