Helen Victoria Gray

Helen Victoria Gray of Lake Wales passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale.

She was born July 3, 1917 in Lowell, Indiana to the late Joseph E. & Marie (Guziak) Kalemba; she lived in Lakeland from 1946 until 1951 when she moved to Lake Wales. She was a retired secretary for the Lake Wales Chamber of Commerce and the First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, the Council of Catholic Women and the Winter Haven Bowling Association.

Helen was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Ann Gray; two brothers, Edward Kalemba and Tony Kalemba; and two sisters, Agnes Collins and Josephine Banks. Survivors include her two sons, Robert C. Gray of Poinciana, FL and Patrick E. Gray of The Woodlands, TX; one brother, Jack Kalemba of Mississippi; one sister, Constance Sapienza of Lakeland, FL; one grandchild, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 until 5:00 pm Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held 11:00 am Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Jimmy Fund Clinic at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Post Office Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168) or the Good Shepherd Hospice (105 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, FL 33823).
