Helen C. Ayers

Helen C. Ayers of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010 at The Groves Center in Lake Wales.

She was born November 25, 1923 in Decatur, AL to the late Mitchell and Lena (Thomas) Chambers, Sr.; and came to Lake Wales from Dundee in 1975. She was retired as a Tunnel Operator for Citrus World for 21 years and was of the Baptist faith.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1987; and brother, Mitchell Chambers in 2005. Survivors include her son, William Mitchell Ayers of Jersey Shores, PA; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Marion Nelson Funeral in Lake Wales, with visitation from 1:00-2:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
