FOR THOSE I LOVE

(Remembering Hazel Elizabeth McCall Estes)

Remember not to mourn for me - we have said our good-byes slowly over the years.

Remember my love for you was always there, even when it was locked within me.

Remember happy times, faces and places we enjoyed since I’m not able to anymore.

Remember I loved flowers, especially orchids, art, birds, trees and the blue sky.

Remember to look at God’s nature and see it as I would, for its joy and beauty.

Remember how I loved the house my beloved Bob built for me and our children.

Remember I loved to sit on the patio with my cup of coffee or tea and the peace it gave me.

Remember the field peas we shelled and corn we shucked on the patio, cooking and eating them.

Remember how I loved the ocean, and walking along the waters edge.

Remember I loved sea shells, and marveled at each shell’s beauty, color and uniqueness.

Remember I loved to dance, but especially with my beloved Bob.

Remember all the oranges I peeled and sectioned with love for us to enjoy or for our ambrosia.

Remember I loved to cook for Bob, family and friends - the Blessings of being together.

Remember I loved The Lord, First Presbyterian Church, and the comfort of my church family.

Remember my blue-green eyes shining when I smiled, and smile in silence with me.

Remember God didn’t grant us a final good-bye, but He granted us many years to say good-bye.

Remember I will be in Heaven - free of Alzheimer’s - reclaiming my memories.

Remember to claim your memories so we can be together.

Remember how much I love you.
