HASKELL A. “AL” FLOWERS, 70

Haskell A. “Al” Flowers of Frostproof passed away Sunday, July 13, 2008 at the Grove Center in Lake Wales.

Born September 19, 1937 in Fort Meade; he came here in 1973 from Jacksonville. He was a retired weigh master for Polk County Public Work, of the Baptist faith and a veteran of Vietnam, retiring from the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Lake Wales and the Fleet Reserve Association. He also enjoyed playing billiards.

Survivors include his wife, Julia O. Flowers of Lake Wales; son, Phillip A. Flowers and wife, Karen, of Lake Wales; mother, Grace L. Taylor of Frostproof; and sister, Evelene Flowers of Lakeland.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof with Rev. Darrol Hood officiating. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be sent to the First Baptist Church, 96 West B Street, Frostproof, FL 33843.
