NALCREST -- Mr. Harry R. Smith of Nalcrest died Sunday (Feb. 5, 2006) at The Groves Center of complications following a stroke. He was 94.

Born in Reads Landing, Minn., on March 3, 1911, he came to Nalcrest from there in 1986. He was a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Minnesota and a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Lake Wales Veterans of Foreign Wars and Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge. He was a two-time Bronze Star recipient. He was a musician. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Indian Lake Estates.

Mr. Smith is survived by his friend, Dorothy Van de Veer, Fedhaven.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
