LAKE WALES -- Mr. Harry L. Fischer of Lake Wales died of heart failure Saturday (Sept. 9, 2006). He was 55.

Born in Philadelphia on Sept. 2, 1951, he came to Lake Wales from Manahawkin, N.J., 21 years ago. He was a retired shop foreman at Oakley Transport. He was a member of the National Guard in New Jersey. He was a former member of the Harley-Davidson Association. He was a former instructor for Ridge Vocational Technical School. He was an Episcopalian.

Mr. Fischer was preceded in death by his first wife, Marion Fischer. He is survived by his wife, Julie S. Fischer; daughter, Melissa Fischer Youngblood, Bartow; stepdaughters, Sarah B. Davis, Ashley Nicole Davis, both of Lake Wales; stepson, Thomas Davis III, Lake Wales; sister, Gloria Pilla, Cherry Hill, N.J.; one granddaughter.

Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Friday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Lake Wales.
