HAROLD EUGENE (GENE) MILLER, 94

Gene Miller of Avon Park passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Somers Hospice House in Sebring.

He was born September 29, 1922 in Ashland, KY, to the late Stanley and Maggie Miller. He was a retired WWII Navy Veteran having served in the South Pacific.

He was pre-deceased by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn Marie Miller; two brothers Joe and Stanley; one sister, Marjorie; and one niece Pamela.

He is survived by two daughters, Georgia Peterson and husband Harvey of Lorena, TX, and Sarah Adelt and life partner Frank Mercurio of Avon Park; one grandson, David Jenkins of Centennials, Co.; two great -grandchildren, Tara Jean and Matthew Ryan; and one great- great grandson, Levi. Also, surviving him are three nieces, Carolyn Alexander, Vera Warnecke, and Rebecca Segal; and one cousin, Billie Gibbons. He was also survived by his special companion of 12 years, Geri Kenneally.

Family service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with military honors.
