Harold E Glenn

Harold E. Glenn, 85, of Lake Wales passed away Friday, February 21, 2014 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.He was born January 7, 1929 in Winter Haven, Florida to the late Elgin C. and Maude E, (Wetherington) Glenn and was a lifelong resident. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army and of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed 45 years of dedicated service as gate keeper and grounds keeper at Bok Tower. He continued his sunrise and quiet walks through the gardens even after his retirement; if you have visited Bok Tower between 1952 and 1997 you were most likely greeted by his warm smile and kind words. Harold made the world a bit better place by having lived in it.He was preceded in death by his brother, Edwin and sister, Maude Alice.Survivors include his brothers, Curtis Glenn of Lakeland, Sherwood Glenn of Lake Wales and numerous nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Rev. David Durham officiating.
