Harold D. Earnhart, age 72, of Frostproof, FL, passed away peacefully at his home on November 23, 2008, due to Parkinson’s Disease. His loving wife and surviving children were at his side.

Born on March 11, 1936 in Black Oak, Arkansas to the late Herbert and Fannie Webb Earnhart, he was the youngest of six children. He attended Monette High School and graduated from Arkansas State University. He worked in the Food and Drug Division for the Department of Agriculture and moved to Lake Wales, Florida in 1964.

He loved to dedicate much of his time and energy to church, teaching Sunday School and becoming a lifelong Deacon. From the many classes he taught he developed an inner circle of close friends, but eventually, later stage Parkinson’s and extremely poor eyesight kept him homebound.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Jimmie Carolyn Earnhart, daughter, Lisa Edwards and her husband Greg of Frostproof, son Thomas Michael Earnhart and his wife Susan of Jacksonville, Florida and his two grandchildren Elizabeth and Matthew Earnhart, his sister Pauline Jones and sister-in-law Irene Earnhart both live in Black Oak, Arkansas, his brother-in-law Loran F. Barnes lives with his family in Powhatan, Arkansas. There are also numerous nieces and nephews located in and around Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph, Paul and Junior, and his sister Christeen Cobb. His eldest child, Janis C. Earnhart passed in 1997.

A private memorial service for the family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Florida Baptist Children’s Home, State Office, 1015 Sikes Blvd., Lakeland, FL 33815 (863) 687-8811.
