Gwendolyn C. Zipprer

Gwendolyn C. Zipprer, 96, passed away Monday, November 4th, following a brief illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, William C. Zipprer, Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Lynda Mims-Wetzel and a son William Zipprer III. She had six grandchildren: William Zipprer IV, Dwight Keen, Jr., Elizabeth Keen Spraggins, William Mims, Robert Mims, and Casey Wetzel. She also had eleven great-grandchildren: Lily Zipprer, William Zipprer V, Ginny Zipprer, Julia Marbutt, Ryland Marbutt, Bowen Keen, Sarah Beth Spraggins, Emma Gwendolyn Spraggins, Benjamin Spraggins, Megan Mims and John Mims.

Mrs. Zipprer was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Wales where she taught adult Sunday School for many years. In her younger years, she worked as a bookkeeper for Bullard Insurance Company and later for Citrus Grove Development Company in Babson Park. She was a resident of Lake Wales for 77 years.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Pastor Charles Little officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Hospice of the Comforter Foundation (496 W. Central Parkway, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714).
