FORT LAUDERDALE--Gwen Williams Pickels, 74 , of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. died of complications of Alzheimer’s, Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at her residence.
Born October 28, 1932 in Geneva, Alabama; she lived in Ft. Lauderdale from 1954 to 1988 moving to Babson Park, FL for 10 years then returned to Ft. Lauderdale. She was a retired office manager for Broward County School Board, a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Ft. Lauderdale, a former member of Eastern Star, enjoyed reading her Bible and flower gardening.
Survivors include her husband John W. Pickels of Ft. Lauderdale; son, Michael W. Pickels of Oakland Park; sister-in-law, Nancy Williams of Frostproof.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, June 22, 2007 at Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof with Rev. Darrol Hood officiating.
