Gregory Edwin Kirkland, a cherished husband, father, and respected member of his community, passed away on October 27, 2025, in Tampa, Florida. Born on September 29, 1939, in Wilsonville, Georgia, he lived a life marked by dedication, creativity, and a strong commitment to his family and faith.
Gregory's professional journey led him to Johnny B Smith Engineers, Inc., where he served as a CAD operator. Beyond his career, Gregory embraced his hobbies with enthusiasm. He had a passion for computers, woodworking, and bicycling, all of which reflected his creative spirit. His love for keeping a vegetable garden provided sustenance served as a personal testament to his nurturing nature. A proud veteran, Gregory served in the United States Marines, embodying the values of service, honor, and commitment.
Gregory was a man of faith, being a member of the Presbyterian Church. His beliefs guided him and shaped his interactions with those around him, fostering a spirit of kindness and generosity.
He leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly. His beloved spouse, Patricia Belle Kirkland, stood by his side through the many chapters of his life. He was a dedicated father to his daughter, Rhonda L. Tribbey of Sunrise, Florida; and sons, Karl G. Kirkland of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Keith L. Kirkland of Panama City Beach, Florida. Each of them carries forward his legacy of love, strength, and dedication. He was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony E. Kirkland; his sisters, Joanne Lott and Diane Roehrich; as well as his parents, Quincey H. Kirkland and Wannie Adams. Their memories and the bonds they shared will forever remain a part of his family's story.
