Gordon Douglas Halley

Gordon Douglas Halley of Lake Wales passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in Lake Wales.

He was born December 7, 1949 in Cleveland, OH to the late Gail & Janet (Hodges) Halley; He was a graduate of Sandusky High School, Sandusky, OH and of Ohio State University. He moved to Lake Wales from Tucson, AZ in 1993 to help care for his aging parents. After the death of his father when his mother became too frail to live on her own, he quit his job and became a full-time caretaker. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in lake Wales and had been a funeral home attendant. He loved baseball and used to go to the Rays games. Baseball wasn't his only passion. He also loved music and was a member of the choir at the First United Methodist Church in Lake Wales for many years. He liked cats and was an avid reader.

Survivors include his brothers, David Halley of Shaker Heights, OH and Bruce Halley (Cathy) of Rahway, NJ.
