Gordon Barron, Sr.

Gordon Barron, Sr. of Babson Park passed away Monday, July 26, 2010 at the Dove Healthcare.

He was born September 10, 1924 in Packwaukee, WI to the late Raymond Byron & Cora Anna (Leonard) Barron; he came here from Endeavor, WI in 1970. He was retired from Citrus World, a member of the First Christian Church of Babson Park, and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a very active member at his church and took care of the grounds and enjoyed gardening. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Gordon was preceded in death by his daughter, Phyllis Pope. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Celine Barron; daughters, Jeanette Motis (David) of Babson Park and Jane Peavy (John) of Lake Wales; sons, Gordon Barron Jr (Wendy) of Hudson, Phillip Barron of Englis, Jim Barron (Vickie) of Lake Wales and Paul Barron (Michelle) of Springfield, MO; sisters, Margaret Klawitter of WI, Josephine Kallenbach of AL and JoAnna Hamilton of WI; 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM at the First Christian Church in Babson Park with Minister Buddy Harris officiating. Interment will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
