Gloria Wooten Richards

Gloria Wooten Richards, 84, of Lake Wales passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at The Groves Center due to heart failure.

She was born April 11, 1924 in Frostproof to the late Fred & Grace (Simmons) Wooten; she was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a homemaker and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Frostproof. She loved genealogy and gardening.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Cecil G. Richards of Lake Wales; daughter, Cecile Richards Sullivan (Husband-Gussie) of Avon Park; sons, Stephen Allan Richards of Frostproof and Gary Foster Richards (Wife-Yvette) of Babson Park; brothers, Wyman Wooten of Frostproof and Philip Wooten of Gainesville; sisters, Lorraine Shiver of Leesburg and Norma Love of Babson Park; grandchildren, Dean Watson Sullivan (Wife-Carol) of Carrollton, GA and Kristen Holly Sullivan of Lakeland.

Graveside services will be held 1100 AM, Thursday, February 12, 2009 at the Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof. The family will be receiving friends following the service at Babson Park Community Church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, donation may be sent to the Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, FL 33823.
