Glen A. Commet

Glen A. Commet of Lake Wales, Florida passed away in the presence of his family Friday, November 04, 2011.

He was born March 08, 1932 in Petersburg, Michigan to the late Joseph and Pearl (LaPointe) Commet. He has been a resident of Lake Wales since 1976 coming here from Petersburg, Michigan. He was a retired machinist with Tecumseh Products in Tecumseh, MI, a member of the Lake Wales VFW, Knights of Columbus #5643 and DAV. He was a decorated US Army war veteran of Korea receiving two bronze stars and was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church of Lake Wales. He was a very generous man and enjoyed landscaping and fishing.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by 5 siblings, Frances C. LaVigne, Mary M. Roshong, Hilda M. Sancrant, Edward J. Commet, and Merle A. Commet. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Betty G. Commet; sons, Duane Commet (Nancy) of Lake Wales, Keith Bean (Diane) of Terra Haute, IN, and Brent Bean (Jennifer) Sawyer, MI; sisters, Mildred M. Navarre (Howard) of Monroe, MI, Ethel J. Nidek of Temperance, MI, Rita Bausman of Blissfield, MI, Eileen A. Kottke (Doug) of Petersburg, MI, and Donna J. Guy (Jim) of Monroe, MI; brother, Lawrence B. Commet of Petersburg, MI.; grandchildren, Stephanie N. Commet and Zachariah M. Commet, both of Lake Wales, Rhonda M. Burgess (Roger) of Benton Harbor, MI, Courtney E. Chappel of Portage, MI, Michelle L. Church of Sawyer, MI, Mary E. Bean, Teresa C. Bean and Deidre A. Bean of Terra Haut, IN; great-grandchildren, Clayton and Paige Burgess of Benton Harbor, MI.
