HAINES CITY -- Mrs. Gladys B. Thompson of Haines City died of heart failure Thursday (Sept. 21, 2006) at Haines City Health Care. She was 93.

Born in Mondak, Mont., on June 28, 1913, she came to Lake Wales from Montana in 1918, moving to Haines City two years ago. She worked at Central Florida Gas Co. in Lake Wales and McCrory's. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Rolly J. Thompson. She is survived by her daughter, Patty Horne, Pensacola; sons, Robert Thompson, Haines City, Roy Thompson, Burke, Va.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haines City Health Care or Cornerstone Hospice of Haines City.
