Gertrude J. "Trudy" Marvel

Gertrude J. “Trudy” Marvel of Babson Park passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at her residence.

She was born November 9, 1962 in Oaklawn, IL; she came to Polk County as a youth and moved to Babson Park in 2001. She was an accomplished autocad draftsman and attended the First Presbyterian Church in Frostproof and the Stuart Avenue Church of God in Bartow. She was a former town commissioner of Hillcrest Heights and enjoyed fishing.

Trudy was preceded in death by her brother, Robert E. Carder, III. Survivors include her loving husband of 25 years, Daniel “Danny” Marvel; father, Lee E. Carder of Lakeland; mother, Teresa Carder of Lakeland; three sisters, Dianna, Amy and Karolyn.

Memorial service will be held 11:30 am Monday, December 9, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church (101 North Palm Avenue, Frostproof) with Rev. Buzzy Elder & Rev. Larry Stitt officiating.
