Geraldine S Nelson

Geraldine S. Nelson, of Frostproof, passed away at Florida Hospital Heartland in Sebring on Sunday, January 29, 2017. She was born May 8, 1946, in Blakely, Georgia to the late Jim and Bessie (Evans) Smith. She was a daycare worker for the Church of God Small World Daycare and was a member of the Church of God in Frostproof, Florida.   She loved her soap operas, loved keeping in touch with people on her Kindle, loved her church, but most of all loved her family.   She had resided in Frostproof for the past 38 years, coming from West Palm Beach, Florida.   Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Douglas Nelson, Sr., son, Bobby Trexler and two brothers. Survivors include her son, Norman Douglas Nelson, Jr of Frostproof;   daughters, Elaine Roland and her husband, Robert of Frostproof, Donna Hutto and her husband, John of Frostproof and Wanda McClellan of TN; sisters, Jeanette Nelson of Lantana, Gail Nelson of AL, Peggy Quinones of West Palm Beach, Linda Smith of O’Brien; brother, Ray Smith and wife, Glenda of AL; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until the service at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 5th at the Church of God in Frostproof with Pastor Rodney Cannon officiating. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
