GERALDINE A. GENTZLER, 87

Geraldine A. Gentzler of Lake Wales passed away Saturday, January 03, 2009 at the Life Care Center of Winter Haven.

Gerry was born April 13, 1921 in Massillon, Ohio. She and her husband have wintered in Lake Wales since 1982 coming from Jackson Township, Ohio. Gerry was the president of Gentzler Tool and Die Corp. in Green, Ohio. Currently she attended the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Wales and John Knox Presbyterian Church in Jackson Township, Ohio. She was a member of the Lake Wales Country Club, and was the first Social Chairman of Phase I. She was a member of the Women's Club Bible Stucy Group, as well as a former member of the Lake Wales Arts Council. Gerry was a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine in Akron, Ohio, the Shady Hollow Country Club in Massillon, Ohio, and the Eastern Star in Akron, Ohio #567. Gerry loved cross country skiing, golf, vacationing, eating out with her Wednesday night dinner bunch, visiting wineries with her daughter, people and life in general.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul P. Gentzler in 1997 and a brother, Harold Appleby. Survivors include her companion, Don Brewer of Lake Wales, Florida; daughter, Nancy Grimes of Jackson Township, Ohio; sons, Gordon Paul Gentzler of Massillon, Ohio and David Gentzler of Canton, Ohio; a brother, Gordon Appleby of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Lake Wales Country Club. Contributions may be sent to the Lake Wales Arts Council, the Shriners Children's Hospital or if you want, just do something nice for someone today.
