Gerald A. "Jerry" Wilhelm 51, of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.
He was born January 25, 1962 in Lockport, New York to the late Gerald A. and Gloria G. (Flagg) Wilhelm, Sr. and has been a resident of the area for 12 years coming here from Virginia. Jerry was a Machine Operator for Dura Cast. He served in the US Navy from 1979 to 1985 aboard the USS Oral Sea (CV-43), Rank of E-3 Boiler Man Class A. He was of the Presbyterian Faith. Jerry was the kind of man that would help you with anything he could; he could cheer you up, make you laugh when he was around. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He had many friends and loved by them all. Jerry surely will be missed by all of those who had the privilege of knowing him. BUT NOT FORGOTTEN ALWAYS IN OUR HEART.
Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, J. Scott Wilhelm and step- father, Roy Macalso
He was survived by his loving girlfriend and companion of 6 years Cindy Tramell of Lake Wales; son, Tyler Wilhelm of Virginia; sister, Shelley Rohring of North Carolina; brothers, Jeffery F. Wilhelm of Lockport, New York, John R. Wilhelm of North Carolina, Gregg A. Wilhelm of Virginia; close friend Keith Sherman
Memorial Services will be held at a later date and the interment will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida
