Gerald “Jerry” Calvin Opdenaker, 82

Gerald Calvin Opdenaker of Lake Wales, FL passed away in Lake Wales on May 26, 2022. He was born in Lenni, P.A. to the late Albert and Beatrice Opdenaker, he was a retired postal worker and was affiliated with the Knights of Columbus. He served in the Army and the Vietnam war. When Jerry was younger, he loved woodworking and building houses. He also loved animals, his family and enjoyed taking care of his grandchildren.

Gerald is preceded in death by his wife Janet A. Opdenaker; his sisters Caroline Benetti, Louise Barnes, Margrett Heavens, Barbara Graham, and his twin sister Patricha Pennock; his brother Albert Opdenaker. Jerry is survived by his daughter Karen Perez (AJ) of Lake Wales; his son Jerry Opdenaker of Lake Wales; and his 3 grandchildren Christopher, Jacob, and Connor Perez; and his sisters Linda Mullen, and Rosemary Acker.

A memorial mass will be held at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Saint Matthews Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Winter Haven SPCA ( www.humanesocietyofpolkcounty.org ).
