George A Simmons

George A. Simmons, 85 of Lake Wales, Florida passed Friday, May 11, 2018 at the Winter Haven Hospital.

He was born June 2, 1932 in West Unity, Ohio to the late Clayton and Mabel (Walker) Simmons and he has been a resident of this area since 2006 moving here from Punta Gorda, Florida.  He was a retired Bank President. George enjoyed boating, golf and rving was an avid water skier. He was Past Commodore of Platinum Point Yacht Club in Punta Gorda, Lake Ashton Travelers, Ohio Bankers Association, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Wales.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Michael Allen Simons and his sister, Marcella Chamberlain, brother-n-law, Chuck Chamberlain.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Janet L. Simmons; daughters, Linda Kolb (Ron) of Ney, Ohio, Brenda Simmons of Monclova, Ohio, Barbara Beth Gaulard (Andre) Jacksonville, step daughter, Amy Hendricks of Vermilion, Ohio; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Ohio.
