George Leroy Raynor, 81

George Leroy Raynor of Indian Lake Estates passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Life Care Center of Winter Haven.

He was born March 2, 1943 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the late Ernest and Ruth Raynor. George attended primary school in Middletown, Pennsylvania and graduated from Middletown High. He then attended the University of Miami where he earned his bachelor’s degree. For a short time, George worked for Scott Paper then Target Marketing in Florida. He was not fond of the cold weather in Pennsylvania and decided to stay in Florida. This is where he married Susan and they lived in Jacksonville before buying a houseboat and moving to the Keys. Eventually they bought a health food store in Key Largo. When it was time to retire, George and Susan moved to Indian Lake Estates. He enjoyed water skiing and was a member of Indian Lake United Methodist Church.

George was preceded in death by his with, Susan Raynor in 2018; and brother, Ernest Raynor, Jr. He is survived by his brother, Bill Raynor; nieces, Valerie Raynor, Pamela Gray, and Patti Raynor; nephew, Billy Raynor; and many friends from Indian Lake Estates.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Indian Lake United Methodist Church.
