George "Moke" Anders

George “Moke” Albert Anders, 83, died peacefully at his home in Indian Lake Estates, Florida on January 17, 2017 at 2:15 p.m..

He was born March 28, 1933 in Danville, Illinois. He was the son of George and Albertina (Hageman) Anders. He married the love of his life Bobbie McConnell on December 30, 1978 ,who survives him.

Other survivors are his children Tracie (Jeff) Collins of Melbourne, FL, David (Ruth) Anders of Mahomet, IL, Jeffrey Anders of Philadelphia, PA, Granddaughters Brandy (Patrick) Breckenridge of Melbourne, FL, Bridget Anders of Chicago, IL, Megan Anders of Mahomet, IL, Great Grandsons Vincent and Dominic Breckenridge of Melbourne, FL. One nephew Michael (Vickie) Anders and four great nieces, one great nephew and their children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John “Hook” Anders, infant sister Alberta and one niece, Holly.

George “Moke” Anders graduated Danville High School, was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, worked as a machinist at Modern Machine shop and later started at General Electric as a tool and die maker until he retired. He enjoyed life, was an avid animal lover and never knew a stranger. Him and his brother loved to play fast pitch softball. He loved canoeing, fishing and snowmobiling with friends and family. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Kimberling City, MO where they enjoyed boating, skiing, fishing, golfing and a great group of friends on Point 7. They were members Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church. He later retired a second time and moved to Indian Lake Estates, Florida where he was close enough to his two great grandsons to watch them grow and play ball.

The family will be having a private memorial service to honor his life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
