LAKE WALES -- Mr. George Arthur Johnston Sr. of Lake Wales died of heart failure Sunday (March 19, 2006) in Winter Haven. He was 77.

Born in Winter Haven on Dec. 2, 1928, he came to Lake Wales in 1956. He was a retired furniture salesman and manager for Drapers Furniture. He also worked for Hallmark and he worked part-time for Marley's Furniture Store of Tampa. He was an Army veteran. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lake Wales.

Mr. Johnston is survived by his wife, Arwilda Johnston; sons, G. Arthur Johnston Jr., Winter Haven, and Robert H. Johnston, Deltona; brother, Julian A. Johnston Jr., Winter Haven; and two granddaughters.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Lake Wales. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Lake Wales Cemetery.
