George Robert Galloway

George R. Galloway, 84, of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the Winter Haven Hospital.

He was born on April 19, 1931 in West Palm Beach, Florida to the late Edward James and Pearl Phylista (Jones) Galloway and he starting coming to Lake Wales in 1968 and moved here in 1993 from West Palm Beach. He was a retired Insurance Agent. George was a Lay Minister for many years until his ordination in 1999. He also enjoyed family times, especially making memories with his 5 grandchildren. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Winter Haven.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Galloway in 2000 and his 4 brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary Jean Galloway; sons, Lamar Galloway and his wife Crystal of Plant City, Paul Galloway and his wife Penny of Sabastian, FL; 5 grandchildren, Abigail Roosen, Kayla Galloway, Hannah Galloway, Haileigh Galloway and Noah Galloway.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 3:00 PM until service time at 4:00 Pm at the Calvary Baptist Church of Winter Haven with Rev. Tim Williams officiating.

Interment will be held at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
