Gene Phillips

Gene "Tiny" Phillips of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010 at the Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale.

He was born May 30, 1936 in Princeville, IL to the late Virgil Vincent & Dorothy Phillips; he came here from Wyoming, IL in 1996. He was retired from Caterpillar Corp in Mossville, IL and of the Baptist faith. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed training show horses and was a Nascar fan. He was a member of the Union of Auto Workers.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Phillips; daughter, Kimberly Crabtree of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Jessie Gilliam of Toulon, IL, Sue Ann Mitchell of Pekin, IL, Linda Coons of Wyoming, IL, Elizabeth Eaton of Wyoming, IL and Becky & Mike Tracy; brothers, John & Becky Phillips of Wyoming, IL and Bob Phillips of Havana, IL; and three grandchildren, Jessica, Ashley and Cody.

Viewing will be held from 2:00PM until the funeral service at 3:00 PM Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.
