Gene Fisher of Lake Wales passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

He was born October 13, 1933 in Freemont, OH to the late Bruce & Jennie (Mock) Fisher; he starting coming here in 1985 from Keithsburg, IL and moved here permanently in 2001. He was a retail supervisor for R.S. Prewitt Co in Bettendorf, Iowa and was of the Protestant faith. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, working in his vegetable garden and yard and caring for feral cats and other animals around his neighborhood.

Survivors include his wife, Barb Fisher; daughters, Pam Rader of Keithsburg, IL, Cindy Hoogeboom of Vallecito, CO and Rebecca Fisher of Ohio; brother, Don Feagle of Tampa and 5 grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, January 2, 2009 at the family’s residence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Polk County Humane Society earmarked cats.
