She was born September 20, 1938 in Oceanside, New York to the late John Anderson and Lillian Ethel (Hagen) Shields, and has been a resident of Lake Wales for 10 years moving here from Arizona. Gay was a retired Receptionist and was of the Methodist Faith.
Survivors include her husband, John Henley; son, Kevin Todd Smith; brother, Craig Shields of New York
