Mechanic
Gastau Frank Distler, 88, of Lake Wales passed away Friday, April 4, 2008 at the Good Shepherd Hospice.
Born April 23, 1919 in Jamaica, NY; he has been a resident of the Polk County area for 25 years. He was a retired automotive mechanic, a member of the Church of Christ in Frostproof, and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife Lucy O. Distler of Winter Haven; sons, Ed Distler of Alpharetta, GA and George Distler of Long Island, NY; brothers, Robert Distler of Long Island, NY and Ernie Distler of Florida; sister, Margaret Malta of Long Island, NY; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at the Church of Christ in Frostproof.
