Gary I. Bass

Gary I Bass, Age 79, of Indian Lake Estates Florida, formerly from Hammond, NY

Passed away on May 02nd.2024

He died peacefully from complications of cancer treatments with his family at his side.

There will be no calling hours.  A private burial service for family only will be held.

Survivors include his loving wife, Dianne, son, Gary A. Bass and wife Diane of Alexandria Bay Ny, Daughter Lorry and companion Ron Keyes of Waddington NY, Daughter, Stacy Meehan and husband, Ken from North Carolina.  One Brother, Rick Bass and wife Shirley of Hammond NY, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Gary has five grandchildren… Shelby Snyder, Garrett Bass, Mathew Bass, Kellie Meehan and Kenny Meehan.  He also has two great grandchildren.

Gary was a 1963 Graduate of Hammond Central School.  He served our country in the United States Air Force.  After serving in the Air Force, he owned and operated Bass’s General Store in Hammond for many years.  When he sold his store business, he moved on to over the road truck driving.  He owned and operated dump trucks and worked construction on Fort Drum, dabbled in farming and even owned and operated a well drilling machine.

In retirement Gary enjoyed golfing with his buddies at Indian Lake Estates, spending time with his family and friends, and cuddles from his beloved dogs Abby and Sophie.

Gary will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
