Gail Arthur Tew, 75

Gail Arthur Tew of Lake Wales passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023 at her residence.

She was born December 24, 1947 in Lake Wales to the late Fenley and Maggie Arthur. Gail was a lifelong resident of the area and a retired bookkeeper for Tire Barn. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Lake Wales and a past member of First Presbyterian Church of Lake Wales. Gail was an avid exerciser and enjoyed riding her bike and running marathons. She could always be found witnessing to others about Jesus and had a special place in her heart for children. Over all else, Gail loved her family, nieces, and nephews.

Gail was preceded in death by her son, Matthew “Matt” Tew; brother, Simmons Arthur; and brother-in-law, Chester Poff. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Wayne Tew; son, Chris Tew and wife Erin; sisters, Peggy Poff of Avon Park and Joan Lee and husband Bill of Babson Park; brother, Sam Arthur and wife Pat of Lake Wales; and sister-in-law, Irene Arthur of Lake Placid.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Lake Wales with Pastor Charles Taylor officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Lake Wales Childrens Ministry (fbclw.com).
