Frederick “Fritz” Baumgartner,
86 of Lake Wales, FL passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013
at Lake Wales Medical Center.
He was born July 15, 1927 in Naperville, IL
to the late Paul Peter and Bertha Baumgartner, was raised in Naperville and
graduated from Naperville H.S. in 1945.
He
served in the US Navy until 1947, married Laverne A Swanson in 1948 and they raised
their 4 children in Naperville.
He spent
the majority of his career as a Licensed Plumber and Plumbing Contractor. He
also served as The City of Naperville’s Building Commissioner and Plumbing
Inspector.
During their Naperville
years, Fritz & Laverne were members of SS Peter & Paul Church and
enjoyed tennis, dancing and bridge.
In
retirement, they moved to Lake Wales and were parishioners of Holy Spirit
Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, LaVerne;
his sister Marge and brother Pete.
He is
survived by his; daughter, Rae Ann Arnold (Timothy) of Lake Wales, FL; sons,
Gary Baumgartner (Gloria) of Naperville, Larry Baumgartner (Jan) of Naperville
and Eric Baumgartner (Dianne) of Batavia, IL; 14 grandchildren, Jeanette
Arnold, Tamra McDaniel (Scott), Matthew Arnold (Casey); Jill Kuhfus (Matt),
Blake & Brett Baumgartner; Ryan, Rob & Jeff Baumgartner; Michael
(Brittney), Matthew, Megan, Morgan & Madison Baumgartner; plus eight
“great” grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Ann (Shoger) and many
nieces & nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM Friday, December 6,
2013 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (Lake Wales, FL) with Father Glenn Charest
officiating.
Both Fritz and Laverne will be buried at SS Peter & Paul
Cemetery in Naperville, IL
