Frederica G. Currie of Lake Wales passed away Monday, January 26, 2009 at the Winter Haven Hospital.
She was born October 15, 1930 in Kearny, NJ to the late Stephen & Dorothy (Kinsey) Gillick. She attended the Montclair State College in New Jersey and graduated from FDU in 1975 with a master’s degree in English Literature. Frederica previously lived in North Attleboro and Madison, NJ and currently resided in Lake Wales after moving from Port St. Lucie. She was the University Relations Manager for FDU at the Madison Campus and later was employed as an assistant advertising manager as Crosby Valve & Gage in Wrentham, MA. Under the pen name of Erica Kinsey, she was the published author of “A Loving Spirit” and “Lost & Found”, and was working on her third book. She was active in American Association of University Women Lake Wales Chapter, the Lake Wales Women’s Club, the Lake Wales Arts Center and a past Matron of Easter Star, Anglestone Chapter #118. She also sang in the choir at the Church of the Good Shepherd.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Currie Jr. of 46 years. Survivors include her sons, Charles A. “Drew” Currie, III of Methuen, MA and Robert F. Currie & wife, Wendy, of North Granby, CT; and four grandchildren, Mark, Andrew, Nichole and Kayla.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, January 30, 2009 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd with Rev. Thomas C. Seitz Jr. officiating. For those who wish, donations may be sent to the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.
