Freddy Jewkes

Freddy Jewkes of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

He was born December 21, 1941 in Bronx, NY to the late Frederick William and Charlotte Wellington Jewkes; he came here from Miami 6 years ago. He was a painter for the Dade County School Board, served in the Marines, and liked fishing, playing guitar, and singing.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Khambay (Khounxay) Jewkes; daughters, Maria Marks of Miami, Jennifer Jewkes Prigge of Chicago, IL, Khamhack Shilling of Miami, Khamsone Khounxay of Miami; sons, Joseph Jewkes of Chicago, IL, Khamsay Khounxay of Palm Beach, Khamsing Khounxay of Miami, Khene Khounxay of St. Petersburg, Somsack Khounxay of Mobile, AL; and 12 grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2009. Interment will be scheduled at a later date.
