Freda M. Brown

Freda M. Brown of Frostproof passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at her residence.

She was born April 14, 1924 in Okeechobee to Samuel & Minnie Davis; she came here in 1941 from Okeechobee. She retired in 1987 as senior vice president of Citizen's Bank in Frostproof and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Lion's Club. She loved to cook and can vegetables.

Freda was preceded in death by her husband, John C. "Red" Brown in 2003 and daughter, Carole Brown in 2001. Survivors include her son, John C. Brown, Jr. of Frostproof; mother, Minnie Brown Davis of Bartow; brother, Samuel C. Davis of Okeechobee; sister, Daisy Brown of Tampa; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Friday, November 6, 2009 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof with Rev. Wrynn Collins officiating. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
