Franklyn P. Futch of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the Winter Haven Hospital.
He was born November 3, 1932 in Tampa, FL to the late Wilton C. and Margaret P. Futch. He moved to Lake Wales in 1935 and graduated from Lake Wales High School in 1950. He was awarded a Naval R.O.T.C. scholarship at the University of North Carolina where he was a member of the Chi Phi Fraternity. He graduated in 1954 and received a commission in the U.S. Naval Supply Corps. He served three years in the Navy and then entered Emory University in Atlanta receiving his MBA in 1959. He was employed at Lee County Bank in Fort Myers for two years before joining Peoples Bank of Lakeland and retiring in 1996 as Senior Vice President soon after it was acquired by Huntington Bank. He moved back to Lake Wales in May of 2010, residing at Water's Edge.
He is survived by his brother, Wilton, and sister-in-law, Cecilia of Atlanta, GA.
Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the Lake Wales Cemetery with Rev. Chad Reynolds, Senior Minister at First Presbyterian Church officiating.
