Franciscus Josephus Henricus Timmermans

On May 8, 2011 Franciscus Josephus Henricus Timmermans passed away peacefully at the Lake Wales Medical Center surrounded by his wife and two daughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frans and Ida Timmermans and sister, Riek Ris. He was born on May 29, 1925 in The Hague, The Netherlands. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 57 years, Jenny Timmermans of Lake Wales, FL. He was Papa to his two daughters, Jenneke Timmermans of Waterford, CT and Mieke (David) Maloof of Lake Wales, FL and Opa to his greatly beloved grandsons, Mark Santucci and Kyle Maloof.

He graduated from The Technical University of Delft, The Netherlands and was an Electro Technical Engineer with Philips Electronics for 30 years. During that time he was instrumental in developing the heating element for the microwave oven. He traveled throughout the world during his career and in 1977 moved his family to the United States where he retired in 1985 and moved to Lake Wales, FL.

A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Wales on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 11:00 am with the Reverend Chad Reynolds officiating and a reception to follow.
