Floyd E. Miller

Floyd E. “John” Miller of Frostproof, Florida passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Florida Hospital Orlando.

He was born May 16, 1940 to the late Fred O. and Blanche R. (Shaw) Miller. He has been a resident of the area since 1977 following his retirement from the United States Marine Corp. He was a Barber for the Sunray Barber Shop in Frostproof, Sebring Square Barber Shop and Miller Barber shop in Avon Park. He served 20 years in the United States Marine Corp and spending 3 tours in Viet Nam. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, reading western and military books and watching John Wayne movies. He was of the Protestant faith.

He is preceded in death by his sister Violet Pigg, Brothers Frederick P. “Jim” Miller and Jack L. Miller.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years Judy J. Miller of Frostproof, daughter Nancy Lynn Batty and husband Greg of Orlando, FL, son Brian F. Miller of Norcross, GA, sisters Shirley Dixon of New York, Frieda Bleck of New York, Sharon Parkhurst and husband Claire of New York, Brenda Torrey of New York, 4 grandchildren Joshua Miller, Jessica Miller, Alex Batty, Tyler Batty and many nieces and nephews.

Private Inurnment will be held at the Florida National Cemetery at a later date.
