Florence Skipper

Florence Skipper of Waverly passed away Friday, January 14, 2011 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

She was born April 3, 1924 to the late Clarence and Missie (Hudson) Clemmons. She has been a resident of Waverly since 1946 coming here from Vernon, Florida. She was a homemaker, worked for Waverly Growers for 35 years, loved to cook, good with all handcrafts, grew up on a farm, loved her family and was a devoted Christian lady, and a member of the Waverly Baptist Church.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Skipper in 1980; son, Robert K. Skipper in 2004; sisters, Doris Jean Brown, Dorothy Earl; and brother, Curtis Clemmons. Survivors include her son, Charles L. and Kathryn Skipper of Lake Wales; 4 grandchildren, Lindie Skipper of Wildwood, FL, Laurel Skipper of Lake Wales, Lyle Skipper of Lake Wales, Gregory Gates of Waverly; 4 great-grandchildren, Austin, Nolan, Tucker and Greyson.

Graveside Services will be held 3:00 PM, Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Lake Wales Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday, January 17, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home.
